Globalisation

A new era is coming in the hospitality industry where chain hotels begin to restructure their property management systems. I feel that this huge break through in the industry because for guests. For example in the situation of Intercontinental group, owning six brand of hotels chains. It allows them to filter guests’ profiles across 500 hotels over the world, so whether you decide to stay in sunny Spain or relax in the Emerald Isle, check in to a hotel is never going to be the same again.

From a hotels point of view this gives them a competitive advantage like no other, it reduces cost by allowing hotel to complete audits world wide also it’s an insight to compare and contract Hotels performance across the world. Communication is extremely important especially in hotels that are in a chain and I feel that with this integrated system the service industry can go beyond guest’s expectations

Web Standards

The Web Standards Project (WaSP) fights for standards in relation to accessibility and long-term viability of any site published on the Web. They work with browser companies, authoring tool makers. Companies now must ensure that they are not ignorant of other people disabilities and that there web pages are design in the correct stanards that does not exclude any human being

My Experience in DKIT.

I have to admit that my experience in DKIT is one I will treasure forever. A major goal in my life was to complete college and better myself with an academic qualification. I feel that DKIT is a college like no other. When I compare my stories with friends from UCD and DIT, there is absolutely a major difference in the support level and student lecture relationships that DKIT provide. Another valid point I feel is the adaptability of the courses with the maturity of the students and current issues happening in the world today, for the hospitality industry I feel this is extremely important. If DKIT continue with this forward thinking they will have no problems in putting Dundalk on the map for quality in education
